Do you take insurance?

Upon request, I will provide a monthly superbill for PPO insurances.  I am an out-of-network provider. Please contact your insurance company prior to coming to the first session in order to find out your reimbursement rate. Please also be aware that insurance companies require a mental health diagnosis in order to reimburse for therapeutic services.

What is it like working with a male therapist?

I get this question a lot. Most of my clients are women and after our first session they often acknowledge how relieved they are because they have been apprehensive to work with a male therapist. I get it. There seems to be a perception out there of a cold, sterile, overly clinical male therapist who could not possibly empathize with the female experience. That's for sure not me. I connect with all of my clients, regardless of gender, with warmth, sensitivity and humor and I have a strong passion for social justice that enables me to see the world through a feminist lens.

How do you work with couples?

Just like in an individual, every couple is different. I assess a couple when they come in to determine the course of care that would be the most beneficial for their unique dynamic. Many of the couples I work with benefit greatly from Emotionally Focused Therapy or EFT. EFT allows for the often unconscious pattern of dysfunction and conflict to surface into awareness. Once these patterns become conscious they can be examined and adjusted. Another foundational aspect of EFT is to allow for moments of intimacy and bonding during the session. These moments often have enormous positive impacts on the relationship outside of the room.

What type of clients do you typically see?

I feel extremely lucky to work with a remarkably diverse clients of most every age, gender identity, race sexual orientation and socioeconomic status that exists in the eclectic community that is Los Angeles. A lot of my clients tend to be women in their twenties and thirties or members of the LGBTQ community.
